Lattice Footbridge

The flattened arch, lattice footbridge was one of the most widley used patterns of footbridge to be found on British railways.

Bridges were not manufactured or confined to any particular Railway Company, but were ususally supplied by an outside contractor. As such there are many variations in both structural design and finish.

Footbridges of this type were used by most, if not all, of the companies in Britain and include, The Midland Railway, The Great Central Railway, The Highland Railway, The Great Western Railway, The Great Northern Railway, The North Eastern Railway and The London Brighton and South Coast Railway amongst others.

This Kit is based on examples supplied by the Butterley Engineering Company of Derby.

Requires Solder and Paint.

We recommend the use of Churchward models solders and Pre Paint Cleaners, Etch Primers and Paint from Phoenix Precision Paints Ltd.

NOTE: Etches MAY have sharp edges. Castings MAY contain lead. Care should be taken when handling as we can not accept responsibility for damage to persons or property or illness caused by handling whitemetal castings.
