Smoke Deflectors

Probably the best known and certainly the most popular of the former 'Jackson Evans' range of fittings.
Designed basically for use on proprietary locomotives, which often have a deflector that is much to thick and sometimes lacking detail.
They are in most cases suitable for scratch or kit built locomotives, but is is sometimes desirable when using them on models other than they were designed for, to reform the footplate curvature with a fine file, making sure that you do not either crease, or otherwise damage the plate, or take off too much at a time.

All of our deflectors are produced in 0.012" (0.30mm) brass. This means that the plate itself is only 0.006" (0.15mm) thick, however, the strength is obtained from the beading which remains at 0.012".

All of our deflector kits contain strapping / bars, cast pockets and steam pipes if required.
