GWR 20 Ton Loco Coal Wagon.
N23
In 1923/24, The first of the square cornered 20 Ton wagons were built, these had end doors for tipping. They also had one door on each side, and were classified as mineral wagons, intending to be hired out to collieries, there were 4 lots, No.931,136,137,138. The running numbers were 109551109810 and 110001110500, a total of. 760 wagons. All were built with Morton brake gear (supplied). But in 1926, 100 were fitted with D 111 brakes, (number unknown).
These wagons would have been painted all over wagon Grey with White lettering..
N28 / 29.
In 1934 200 of Dia N23 were built with 3 side doors, Lot 1154 were renumbered 83XXX number range, (100 wagons). These appear to be the ( DC111 brake modifications and Lot 1217, were numbered 33321-420. the renumbering being carried out between 19343 thereafter N28 were the 100 fitted with Morton brakes and N29 with DC111. brakes (not supplied). N28 & N29 were classified as loco coal and were painted all over Black, with White lettering.
All above wagons were built to carry 20 Tons. but were uprated to 21 Tons during the war.

We recommend the use of Carr's Model Products solders and Pre Paint Cleaners, Etch Primers and Paints from Phoenix Precision Paints Ltd.
Etches MAY have sharp edges. Castings MAY contain lead.
