Black As supplied, a high quality synthetic (oil based) brushing enamel paint.

British Railways Locomotive and Multiple Unit Green. The Standard Green used for steam, diesel and electric locomotives and Units from 1954 until replaced by Rail Blue (P132) in 1966.

Used in conjunction with P104 Lining Orange and P135 Signal Red for buffer beams and between the frames.

All of our British Railways colours were matched to colour panels supplied to us by the Technical Services Department at Derby when we were suppliers to British Rail in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

London, Midland and Scottish Railway standard Crimson Lake as used for both red locomotives and coaches between 1923 and 1948.

Sometimes refered to as LMS Red, locomotive red or coach red.

Should not be confused with the Maroon (P34) that replaced the Red on some locomotives and coaches from 1946.

Princess Coronation locomotives (Duchess's) that were painted in LMS Red were also painted in this colour, However, the undercoat was red instead of white for standard Red locomotives.

Single Pack Self Etch Primer A single pack etch primer specially formulated to etch Brass and Nickel Silver.

Supplied as a brushing primer but can be sprayed, either with an airbrush or spray gun. Thin about 50:50 with PQ2 etch primer thinners and spray at a pressure of 10 psi or below.

All cans of Single Pack Etch Primer are supplied packaged with instructions which should be read prior to use and retained for later consultation.

All Phoenix Precision Paints Single Pack Etch Primers have a shelf life of approximately one (1) year from the date they are made. To this end ALL Single Pack Etch Primer cans have a best before end (BBE) date on the label.

Pre Paint Cleaner.

For cleaning [degreasing] metal parts & kits prior to painting.

Application can either be by dipping the parts, or by application with a paint brush or clean lint free rag.

If application is by brush or rag you will need to do the job at least three (3) times to ensure that the grease has been killed and removed properly.

If dipping, use a brush to help remove the grease.

Do not touch the cleaned surface with bare fingers after cleaning.

Beware of soldered or brazed joints, seams etc where capillary action can suck the cleaner into the joint. If this happens it will prove almost impossible to get out until you start to paint, when capillary action will work in reverse and destroy the paint.
