SuperSpray is like an aerosol but with 2 main differences. The first is that it comes apart so that you can put your own paint in it. The second is that it is translucent so that you can see what is inside.
To use it, unscrew the cap and pour paint or a mixture of paint and thinners up to level 1, 2 or 3. Screw the cap back on and pull off the blue nozzle.
Butane is one of the standard aerosol propellants used for white spirit based paints and is readily available as cigarette lighter gas from newsagents and tobaconnists. Take a can of butane and fit the red gassing adaptor which is included with the kit. With the SuperSpray firmly held onto a firm surface, insert the gassing adaptor probe into the valve of the SuperSpray. Push down so that the liquid gas is transferred from the gas canister to the SuperSpray. If you have put paint in to Paint Level 1 then continue gassing until the paint level rises to Gas Level 1. What you are doing is putting the same amount of liquid gas in as liquid. It is best to err on the side of too much gas rather than too little. The liquid can be either neat paint or a mixture of paint and thinners if the job requires a much thinner coating. SuperSpray WILL spray neat paint!
Sometimes the viscoscity of the paint is higher than normal. In this case, either thin the paint a little with quick drying thinners, or add extra gas. If the paint spatters when first sprayed, this indicates that more gas is required. We recommend a maximum of 10-15% thinners to paint when spraying small models. Neat paint is best for larger areas. Once gassed, the SuperSpray should be shaken vigourously for a few seconds to thoroughly mix the gas and paint together. Put the nozzle on with a twisting action to prevent it 'spurting'. SuperSpray is now ready for use.
When spraying is finished, turn SuperSpray upside down and in the fresh air, release all the excess gas. Once the gas has gone, the screw cap can be removed. Any unused paint, if unthinned, may be returned to the original tin. Do not put the lid on straight away as there will ve some gas entrained in the paint. Like fizzy lemonade, a pressure will build up as the liquid 'goes flat' and will pop the lid. Thinned paint should never be mixed with unthinned paint as storing thinned paint for any length of time with cause the paint to gel, making it unusable.
When empty, put some clean thinners into the bottle and screw the cap back on. Vigourously shake to wash the inside. A couple of goes should clean the bottle and valve unit. When clean, put a small amount of clean thinners into the bottle, put the cap back on and this time add a little gas. Put the dirty nozzle back on and squirt the thinners through it. This has now pressure washed the valve and nozzle from the inside.
Butane can only be used for white spirit based paints. If spraying self etch primer, cellulose paints or the new Humbrol Super Enamel, SuperSpray Multi Purpose Propellant (obtainable direct from Phoenix Precision Paints Ltd.) must be used. In some cases the propellant can be used as the sole thinner, in other cases suitable thinners are required. Advice is included in the instructions provided with the propellant. If butane is used with a non-compatible paint the resulting mixture will turn to a porridgy consistency in the bottle. IF IN DOUBT use the Multi Purpose Propellant.

The revolutionary new SuperSpray spraying system
A REFILLABLE, RE-USABLE spray can. Use it just like an aerosol and get BETTER results
With SuperSpray Multi Purpose Propellant all white spirit thinnable paints, and when thinned with suitable thinners, cellulose paints, dopes, Lexan paints, new Humbrol Super Enamel and etch primer can be sprayed.
Alternatively, butane cigarette lighter gas (which is one of the standard aerosol propellants) may be used for spraying Precision Authentic Railway Colour Paints, Cherry Paints, the old formula Humbrol Enamels, and many other white spirit based paints.
PLEASE NOTE: Not all white spirit THINNABLE paints are white spirit BASED
